Eligibility for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana:

  • Citizenship: The family must be Indian citizens.
  • House Requirement: The family must have a house with a roof that is suitable for installing solar panels.
  • Electricity Connection: The family should have a valid electricity connection.
  • No Previous Subsidy: The household must not have availed any other subsidy for solar panels.

How to Apply ?

  1. Visit the Official Website:
  2. Provide the Following Details for Registration:
    • Select your state
    • Select your electricity distribution company
    • Enter your Electricity Consumer Number
    • Enter your Mobile Number
    • Enter your email address
    • Follow the instructions provided on the portal.
  3. Login:
    • Login using your Consumer Number and Mobile Number.
  4. Apply for Rooftop Solar:
    • Fill out the application form for rooftop solar as per the instructions on the portal.
  5. Feasibility Approval:
    • Wait for feasibility approval from your electricity distribution company (Discom).
  6. Install Solar Plant:
    • Once you receive feasibility approval, get the solar plant installed by any registered vendor in your Discom.
  7. Submit Plant Details:
    • After installation, submit the plant details and apply for a Net Meter through the portal.
  8. Inspection and Commissioning:
    • After the installation of the Net Meter, the Discom will conduct an inspection and generate a Commissioning Certificate from the portal.
  9. Receive Subsidy:
    • Once you receive the commissioning report, submit your bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the portal.
    • The subsidy amount will be credited to your bank account within 30 days.

    • Latest electricity bill showing the consumer number and billing details
  • Roof Ownership Certificate:
    • Document proving ownership of the roof where the solar panels will be installed
