Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

Candidates must possess a three-year Diploma or B.Sc. / B.Tech / B.E. in the relevant engineering disciplines from a recognized University/Institute as follows:

1. Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering OR any combination of sub-streams of these basic disciplines.

2. Civil Engineering
OR B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (3 years) OR any combination of sub-streams of Civil Engineering.

3. Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering OR any combination of sub-streams of these fields.

“A combination of any sub-stream of the basic streams of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, Instrumentation and Control, Tools and Machining, Tools and Die Making, Automobile, or Production Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.”

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 33 years

Salary Details

Initial Pay: ₹35,400/- per month
Pay Level (7th CPC): Level 6

General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹500/-
SC / ST / PwBD / Female / Ex-Servicemen Candidates: ₹250/-
Transgender Candidates: No Fee (NIL)

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be carried out in the following stages:

1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I) – Preliminary online exam to shortlist candidates.

2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II) – Main online exam to assess technical knowledge and subject proficiency.

3. Document Verification (DV) – Verification of educational, caste, and other relevant certificates.

4. Medical Examination (ME) – Final stage to ensure candidates meet the prescribed medical fitness standards for railway duties.

Final selection will be based on performance in CBTs and successful completion of DV & ME.
