Qualification :

• Degree in Engineering with 65% marks (average of all semesters) in any of the following disciplines: Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Metallurgy.
• Maximum Age Limit: 28 years (born on or after 05-12-1997).
• Departmental candidates: Upper age limit 45 years, irrespective of caste/category.
• Age relaxation: Applicable as per rules.

Application Fee:

• General/OBC(NCL)/EWS: ₹1,050/-
• SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/Departmental: ₹300/-
• Payment Mode: Online

Selection Process:

• Eligible candidates must appear for Online Examination (CBT), tentatively in Jan–Feb 2026.
• Exam Centres: Major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, etc.
• No change of exam centre allowed after submission.
• SAIL may add/cancel centres based on candidate count.

Exam Pattern:

• Total Marks: 200
• Part I – Domain Knowledge Test: 100 marks, 40 minutes
• Part II – Aptitude Test: 100 marks, 80 minutes (Quantitative Aptitude, English, Reasoning, General Awareness – 25 marks each)

Qualifying Criteria:

• UR/EWS: Minimum 50 percentile in each part
• SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD: Minimum 40 percentile in each part

Shortlisting:

• Candidates qualifying CBT will be shortlisted for Group Discussion (GD) and Interview in 1:3 ratio (discipline & category-wise).
• Call letters for GD/Interview will be uploaded on SAIL website and sent via email.

Final Merit List:

• CBT: 75% weightage
• Group Discussion: 10% weightage
• Interview: 15% weightage

Tie-breaking Rules:

1. Candidate with higher CBT marks gets preference

2.  If still tied, higher marks in B.E./B.Tech. degree considered
