Modals are helping verbs that show ability, permission, possibility, advice, obligation, or requests.

Main types and meanings: Can/Could (ability, permission; could = past/polite), May/Might (permission, possibility; might = weaker chance), Must/Have to (strong obligation; must = speaker’s decision, have to = rule/situation). Always followed by base form of the verb.

Modals কথাবোৰ সহায়ক ক্রিয়াপদ (Helping Verb), যিয়ে ক্ষমতা, অনুমতি, সম্ভাৱনা, উপদেশ, দায়িত্ব/বাধ্যতা আৰু অনুৰোধ দেখুৱায়। প্ৰধান ধৰণ আৰু অৰ্থ: Can/Could (ক্ষমতা, অনুমতি; could = অতীত/বেশি ভদ্ৰ), May/Might (অনুমতি, সম্ভাৱনা; might = দুর্বল সম্ভাৱনা), Must/Have to (দৃঢ় দায়িত্ব; must = ব্যক্তিগত সিদ্ধান্ত, have to = নিয়ম/পৰিস্থিতি)। মনে ৰাখিব: Modal ৰ পাছত সদায় verb ৰ মূল ৰূপ (base form) ব্যৱহাৰ হয়।
