What is the PM Vishwakarma Yojana ?

PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a central sector scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to provide comprehensive support to artisans and craftsmen. It offers collateral-free loans, skill training, modern equipment, and incentives for digital transactions, along with market linkage support. The scheme will run for five years until 2027-28. Participants will receive ₹500 per day during training and an additional ₹15,000 to purchase tool kits. It covers various businesses, including carpenters, boat builders, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, cobblers, masons, and traditional artisans, promoting the growth of traditional crafts in India.

Benefits of Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana

  1. Identification:
    • Certificate and ID card recognizing beneficiaries as Vishwakarma artisans.
  2. Skills:
    • Basic Training: 5-7 days (40 hours) followed by skill verification.
    • Advanced Training: Optional 15 days (120 hours).
    • Training Stipend: ₹500 per day.
  3. Toolkit Incentive:
    • Grant of ₹15,000 to purchase tool kits.
  4. Loan Assistance:
    • Collateral-free Loans:
      • ₹1,00,000 (1st tranche with 18 months repayment).
      • ₹2,00,000 (2nd tranche with 30 months repayment).
    • Interest Rates:
      • 5% charged from the beneficiary.
      • 8% interest subvention limit paid by the Ministry of MSME.
    • Credit Guarantee Fee: Covered by the Government of India.
  5. Incentive for Digital Transactions:
    • ₹1 per transaction for up to 100 transactions monthly.
  6. Marketing Support:
    • Services from the National Marketing Committee (NCM), including quality certification, branding, e-commerce linkage, trade fair advertising, and publicity.

Note: Beneficiaries will receive SMS notifications regarding the distribution of incentive amounts.

How to Apply ?

Registration:

  1. Visit Official Portal:
    • Go to pmvishwakarma.gov.in.
    • Click on “Login” in the top right corner, then select “CSC Register Artisan”.
  2. Aadhaar Verification:
    • On the “Register Now” page, answer Yes/No to the questions and click “Continue.”
    • Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and click “Continue.”
    • Input your Aadhaar number and Aadhaar registered mobile number, then click “Continue.”

Application:

  1. Biometric Verification:
    • Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) to complete the biometric verification process.
  2. Fill Application Form:
    • Complete the online application form with all mandatory details and click “Submit.”
    • Note down the “Application Number” for future reference, then click “Done.”

Verification:

  1. Eligibility Verification:
    • Verification will be conducted at the Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body (ULB) level.
  2. Scrutiny:
    • The District Implementation Committee will scrutinize and recommend applications.
  3. Final Approval:
    • The Screening Committee will grant final approval for registration after verifying eligibility.

Benefit Disbursement:

  • After successful verification, artisans and craftsmen will be formally registered as Vishwakarma under the scheme.
  • They will receive a digital ID, a PM Vishwakarma digital certificate, and a PM Vishwakarma ID card, recognizing them as Vishwakarma and making them eligible for all scheme benefits.

Eligibility for PM Vishwakarma Yojana

  1. Artisan or Craftsman: The applicant must be an artisan or craftsman who works with hands and tools.
  2. Self-Employment: The applicant must be working in the unorganized sector on a self-employment basis.
  3. Traditional Occupation: The applicant must be engaged in one of the 18 family-based traditional occupations specified in the scheme.
  4. Minimum Age: The minimum age of the applicant should be 18 years at the time of registration for the scheme.
  5. Current Engagement: The applicant must be actively engaged in the relevant trade at the time of registration.
  6. Loan Eligibility: The applicant should not have availed of a loan under similar credit-based schemes of the Central or State Government (e.g., PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra) for self-employment or business development in the last 5 years.
  7. Family Limitation: Registration and benefits under the scheme will be limited to one member of the family.
